I have been a bike rider since Dad taught me to ride when I was about 4 years old, maybe 5, but the location was a asphalt playground and though I fell over as we all do, i jumped right back on. Later I rode to school everyday and did a few races and training with dad around Craigmore. I went from a tiny kids blue bike, to a chromemolly bmx, to a custom reynolds 531 tubing roadie, and then things really take off… Careful bikes are addictive.

Global Road traffic injuries. Approximately 1.3 million people die on the roads per year and over half of those are the vulnerable road users, pedestrians, cyclists and motor cyclists. Loss of GDP is estimated at 3% for the harm done by road injuries.
South Australian Police use a bike passport system to improve bike security.
Power assisted cycling and/or wheeled movement devices are becoming more popular, and of course government want to govern!
My belief is that improved training for motorised vehicles is needed to redress the vulnerable peoples’ risk of death and injury upon roads. Drivers are benefiting themselves to be more aware of the “thin” vehicles, the bikes, people and motorbikes, scooters, skaters, bladers, etc. Drivers are currently told to look for cars, or vehicles, we should be looking for everything, and people first of all. Train your eyes to see people and become a more accurate driver / mover.
Drive with the precision of Dannys’ Wee Day Out!
