The typical human karyotypes contain 22 pairs of autosomal chromosomes and one pair of sex chromosomes (allosomes). The most common karyotypes for females contain two X chromosomes and are denoted 46,XX; males usually have both an X and a Y chromosome denoted 46,XY.
Approximately 1.7% percent of humans are intersex, sometimes due to variations in sex chromosomes.[unreliable source]
Some variations in karyotype, whether to autosomes or allosomes, cause developmental abnormalities. Karyotype – Wikipedia.
Intersex can be divided into 4 categories:
46, XX intersex
46, XY intersex
True gonadal intersex
Complex or undetermined intersex.
If 1.7% of humans are intersex, and currently world population is : 7.9 Billion, that implies that 126,400,000 humans are intersex. Just do the maths… human.
