“Stonewalling is a refusal to communicate or cooperate. Such behaviour occurs in situations such as marriage guidance counseling, diplomatic negotiations, politics and legal cases. Body language may indicate and reinforce this by avoiding contact and engagement with the other party. People use deflection in a conversation in order to render a conversation pointless and insignificant. Tactics in stonewalling include giving sparse, vague responses, refusing to answer questions, or responding to questions with additional questions. In most cases, stonewalling is a stalling tactic rather than an avoidance tactic.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewalling
Stonewalling is one of the tactics undertaken by those people who believe they are powerful enough to rudely be vague and elusive about their responsibilities. Fundamentally it is a cowards tactic, born of competition and incompetence rather than cooperation and distinctive effort.
If you are being stonewalled by someone who is supposed to be providing benefits, or supporting yourself in a fair relationship, then throw the whole book at them, hard.
Hardness breaks stone walls, just as easily as does diamond tipped hammer drills, or penetrative explosions dropped from stealth bombers.
The other way to break a stonewaller is to warm them up a bit first of all! The meek shall inherit the earth is a biblical concept, and relates to warming up a person with genuine kindness and caring about the other person who is stonewalling one. Heating up stones sometimes causes them to shatter due to the expansion through thermodynamic properties.
After heating is applied in just the right spot, in just the right way, for just the right duration, the stone wall will shatter and discover it is not even a broken down old frail fence anymore.
Another popular method of breaking stonewallers is shown in the Alien 3, apply molten hot lead, then freezing cold water is applied and the pressurisation cracks the brittle alien. A volcano eruption is similar, the heating creates pressure, the pressure rises more and more, and eventually pops the top, eruption.
